Summary of Position:
The EMR Assistant facilitates the processing of patient information both incoming and outgoing and ensures completeness of the electronic medical record.
# This position ensures that patient information is secure and protected and that information is updated to the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner.

Responsibilities:
Document Processing:
Reviews all incoming documents.
# Posts to patient chart and routes to provider as appropriate.
Test Results:
Processes all incoming test results and links to original order.
Medical Records Updates:
Scans, labels and uploads all new patient records.
Record Requests:
Responds to provider requests of patient records to facilitate coordination of care.
Referrals:
Creates new patient record and incoming referral.
Record Retrieval:
Retrieves records through appropriate EMRs.
# Ensures information is updated to existing medical record.
Patient Communication:
Manage incoming voicemail and responds to patient queries as appropriate.
Minimum
Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED.
##Minimum of one year in a medical record, billing or patient access position.
# Strong computer skills required.
# Medical terminology certificate preferred or completion of medical terminology Healthstream course within first six months of employment.
